This is so much more than a boredom buster! If you don’t already have a Licki Mat go grab one. You can find them in pet shops but there may be more variety on line. They are a silicone Mat with grooves in which you can squish your dog’s meal or a treat. They have so many uses:
- Crate training
- Enjoying time alone
- Relaxing
- Relieving stress
- Distraction from scary noises like fireworks
- Making meals last longer
- Keeping your dog busy while you work
- Stick it on the side of the bath to help while you wash your dog
There are so many things you can put in a Licki Mat too.
- Mashed banana
- Pate
- Natural yoghurt
- Your dogs food
- Left over veggies from dinner (carrots/ squash/peas/ broccoli)
- Peanut butter
These are just a few ideas. Anything that is safe for your dog can be squished into a Licki Mat. To make it last even longer or for a cooling treat on a hot day put the filled mat in the freezer.
