December 18th was Bake Cookies Day! To celebrate here are our top three quick and easy recipes for dog friendly treats.
Oatmeal Pea-Mutt Butter Bites
¼ Cup all natural Peanut Butter (make sure it does not contain Xylitol)
1 Tablespoon Canola/ Coconut oil (or similar)
1 Cup water
2 Cups whole wheat flour
1 cup oatmeal
Preheat the oven to 190c. Combine peanut butter, water and oil in a large bowl. Stir in the flour and oatmeal until combined (using your hands once it gets thick). Roll dough out to ¼ inch thick and cut out cookies with a cookie cutter. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 30-35 minutes or until the edges begin to brown. Let cool.
Quick and Easy Peanut Butter Treats
If your dog likes peanut butter then this is the recipe for them. With less than 5 ingredients you cant go wrong. Use a festive cookie cutter too for extra flair!
Using canned pumpkin, an egg, shredded carrot and whole wheat flour. Mix together into a batter, roll into small balls, place on baking sheet and bake. You’ll get around four dozen. Store in fridge for longer shelf life.
Salmon and Sweet Potato Brownie
Your dog will love you for making these. Use a can of salmon, a (baked) sweet potato, eggs, coconut flour and some coconut oil for greasing a pan. Stir together coconut flour, eggs, and salmon. Let sit for 10 minutes, then stir in the skinned sweet potato. Put into a pie or cake pan and bake. After it cools, cut into brownie squares.
